Coast Guard launches cleanup drive as part of Puneet Sagar Abhiyan
As part of ensuring “Swach Sagar & Surakshit Sagar”, Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 6 (AP), Visakhapatnam, conducted a special cleanliness drive at Ramakrishna Beach, Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The campaign, as part of Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, is to clean all underlying plastics, rags, bins and other non-biodegradable waste which leads to dire situations and impacts the health of the ocean and beaches.

Visakhapatnam As part of ensuring "Swach Sagar & Surakshit Sagar", Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 6 (AP), Visakhapatnam, conducted a special cleanliness drive at Ramakrishna Beach, Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The campaign, as part of Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, is to clean all underlying plastics, rags, bins and other non-biodegradable waste which leads to dire situations and impacts the health of the ocean and beaches.
During the cleanup drive message pertaining to plastic-free sea shore & other non-biodegradable waste materials including awareness on the importance of keeping beaches clean was spread by using banners and plaque cards.
Coast Guard personnel and families including school and college students participated during the special drive.
The marine litter and debris were collected and disposed off safely in coordination with the staff from GVMC.
